What's On in Perth: Fun Things to Do
Hidden De Tours New Brewery Experience
Perth-based touring company Hidden de Tours has launched a new tour offering, exploring the breweries south of Perth in the Rockingham and Peel regions. Kicking off once a month on a Sunday, the five-hour tour includes visits to three brewpubs, with tastings and lunch included. The breweries include FOUND.LAB in Byford, King Road Brewery in Oldbury, and The Brewship in Yangebup. The tour includes guided beer tasting sessions with beer experts, behind the scenes brewery tour, and a brewery lunch.
Bloom Festival
Celebrate spring and the wildflowers bursting into bloom across the Great Southern region of WA’s South West. This annual event offers so much, including arts, crafts, exhibitions, fauna and flora-themed activities, creative workshops, food events, markets, Aboriginal cultural events, open gardens and guided walks and hikes. Spanning various locations from Kojonup to Bremer Bay, the festival highlights the rich cultural and natural beauty of the region.

Everlasting Kings Park Festival
The annual Everlasting Kings Park Festival celebrates the extraordinary diversity and beauty of Western Australia’s incredible wildflowers. During the month of September, a pink field of everlastings bursts into bloom in Kings Park, along with more than 3,000 species of the State’s unique flora. You can take part in dozens of fabulous workshops, tours, art displays, guided walks and family activities while wandering through one of Perth's favourite places.

HoopsFest
Perth is set to host the inaugural HoopsFest event, Australia's largest basketball festival. Over four days, Perth will exclusively host all matches of the opening round of the 2024-25 Australian National Basketball League (NBL) season, the preseason competition for the Women's NBL, plus the Under 18s Club Championships involving the best 48 teams from around Australia. Matches will be held at RAC Arena, HBF Stadium, Bendat Basketball Centre and HBF Arena. Basketball fans can also look forward to supporting events such as Sneakerland and the official HoopsFest Fan Festival at Forrest Place with music, entertainment, street basketball and more.

Scarborough Sunset Markets: Winter Edition
Perth’s most iconic beachside markets are back this Saturday! Bringing the winter feeds and wholesome vibes to the beautiful Scarborough promenade, this year’s winter markets are bigger than ever. Find your favourite global food trucks around the iconic Scarborough Clocktower and throughout the arbours, as well as carefully curated artisan market stalls. Pop on your winter cosies and sip a mulled wine around the fire pit, as beats from the beloved local markets DJs provide the perfect soundtrack to your wintery Saturday eves.

What's On in Perth: Eat & Drink
Moon & Mary opens in Freo
From the restaurateur behind Miss Chow’s, Lucy Luu, Lena’s Bar & Eats, Lygon Lane and a host of uber-successful mod-Asian canteen and bars across Perth comes Moon & Mary, a nod to vibrant Fremantle and its little-known Asian heritage. Expect exciting Asian fusion food, a modern approach to wine and cocktails and iconoclastic, contemporary design. The three-part venue will include a modern Asian dining room, a casual beer garden (The Rec Yard) and a speakeasy/distillery, called Best Behaviour, each with their own unique vibe and offering.

‘Aussie BBQ’ restaurant Cassia opens in Freo
Cassia celebrates and redefines the art of the classic Australian barbecue. Led by award-winning head chef Emily Jones (whose culinary journey includes the likes of Wildflower, Si Paradiso and Michelin-starred restaurants in Norway), Cassia's menu focuses on live-fire cooking techniques. Designed to be shared, the menu includes an array of smoked meats, fresh seafood and seasonal vegetables, cooked over a wood fire.

Margot’s Martini and Wine Bar opens in Northbridge
Margot’s has opened its doors at the upper end of William Street in Perth’s cultural hub of Northbridge. The 120-person venue has taken over a 100-year-old building and transformed it into a modern deli, cellar and bar – dedicated to the craft of creating the classic martini cocktail. Curated by Sesh Mafia (the team behind the CBD’s latest venue Papi Katsu and the popular Shui in Subiaco) Culinary Director Chase Weber has designed a Baltic and North-Eastern European-inspired menu. Expect to see share plates that include house-made seasonal pickles, local meats, cold and cured seafood, charcuterie and stone baked breads.

Botanical High Tea at Pan Pacific
Pan Pacific Perth’s signature High Tea returns for spring with a three-tiered elegant menu, inspired by the delicate and subtle flavours of Australia’s native botanicals. Head Pastry Chef Sai Jetty and his team have created a menu filled with delicate and flavourful local botanical influences including lemon myrtle, pepperberry and saltbush dukkah. High Tea is happening every Saturday and Sunday.

Fondue Fridays at Henry Summer
Urban cocktail bar Henry Summer is heating things up with their fresh Fondue Fridays; think oh so much glorious, hot, gooey melted cheese - yum! Arguably one of the best ways to celebrate that end of work week - loading up on melted cheese, chocolate and wine with mates. Choose between the rich flavours of a 4 cheese blend served hot with toasted bread, salted pretzels, sliced pear, charred broccoli, heirloom carrots, and chat potatoes OR the chocolate served with diced apple, sliced banana, strawberries, salted pretzels, marshmallows, and crisp green grapes. There is also an option to get both…no judgement.

Join in on market day fun the last Saturday of every month at The Old Apple Shed Markets, bringing those good old-fashioned farmers markets vibes to Core Cider. Each month is a showcase from a range of local producers and artisan makers...and from opening time they'll have the coffee machine cranking! Make a day of it, bring family or friends, and let the kids run about whilst you enjoy pizzas and casual eats from the Cider Garden bar, or book into the Orchard Bistro for lunch.

What's On in Perth: Arts & Culture
TIME • BAR and TIME • DINING from the Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA)
As part of the incredibly successful TIME • RONE exhibition, which opened in June 2024, AGWA's brand new offerings - TIME • BAR and TIME • DINING allows visitors the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in RONE's art while enjoying exquisite fine dining experiences within the installation itself.
Prohibition-inspired TIME • BAR opens on Wednesday 28 August and is located deep within the Centenary Galleries, inviting art enthusiasts and food lovers to unwind with bar snacks by chef Guy Grossi and drinks curated by renowned Perth bartender Andy McIntyre.
Then, in an Australian first, on Thursday 5 September AGWA will introduce TIME • DINING; an exclusive and intimate dining experience that will feature soundscape composed by award-winning Nick Batterham and a sumptuous four-course menu by Guy Grossi, with bespoke pairings from St Hugo wines.

CinefestOz Film Festival
Australia’s largest destination film festival is set to return to the stunning backdrop of Margaret River in WA’s South West. A celebration of Australian film, the annual CinefestOZ Film Festival will showcase an extraordinary line-up of new and exciting films and events in the region’s cinemas, wineries, boutique breweries, small bars and galleries. Cinema stars, top screen industry professionals and thousands of film lovers will enjoy a range of different film and event options on offer during the five-day festival.

Margaret River Region Open Studios
Australia’s largest open studio event will return in 2024 with a huge 144 artists from across the Margaret River region opening the doors to their studios for visitors to get a first-hand experience of their creative realm. Art lovers will discover painters, potters, printmakers, milliners, mosaicists, timber craftspeople, textile creators, illustrators and installation artists in some of the most unique settings. From old timber mill cottages, hobby and dairy farms to hay sheds, shearing sheds, beach shacks and breweries – it's bound to inspire creativity for all who visit.
The Children
Charged with intensity, The Children is an atomic drama about the responsibility of generations to those that follow. Robin and Hazel, two nuclear scientists, live a quiet existence in their isolated cottage on the coast, determined to enjoy their hard-earned retirement. That is, until old friend and colleague Rose arrives, bringing with her a past Robin and Hazel had left behind, and a frightening challenge for their future.

To the Moon: WA Museum Boola Barlip
This fascinating, multiform exhibition focuses on humankind’s long fascination with the moon, seeing it as a gateway to the larger universe and the first and most important step in space exploration. To the Moon interweaves lunar art, pop culture, planetary science, historical insights, and the perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The exhibition features the incredible 'Museum of the Moon', a touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram. Measuring seven metres in diameter, the moon features 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface.
