What's On in Perth: Fun Things to Do
FRINGE World Perth
Perth’s annual FRINGE World Festival will once again light up the city with culture and colour when it returns in 2025. Featuring a packed program of more than 200 events covering circus, comedy, cabaret, theatre, dance and children's entertainment from local, national and international artists, it is set to surprise and delight audiences of all ages. The ever-popular Pleasure Garden will return with some of the hottest shows in the festival, with other venues and world-renowned acts soon to be announced.

Spice up your January long weekend with Margaritaville, a sensational celebration of tequila, tacos, and tunes in Leederville from January 25th to 26th. Embark on the Margarita Adventure, a self-guided cocktail trail featuring four unique margarita creations across vibrant venues, paired with a Mex-inspired lunch. Check in at The Garden to receive your Margaritaville Passport - and then choose your own adventure, collecting stamps and cocktails at each bar.
Or settle into the laid-back luxury of Eterno Grande at Servo Restaurant, where bottomless tequila cocktails, cervezas, and prosecco complement a Latin-inspired share menu in a sunlit setting.

New Perth Walking Tours from Oh Hey WA
Perth-based walking tour company Oh Hey WA has launched three new tours in Perth’s CBD and Northbridge, designed to provide an immersive experience, blending historical insights with vibrant storytelling led by passionate local guides.
The Perth City Highlights Tour offers a quick, comprehensive introduction to the city in just 90 minutes, visiting iconic landmarks and discovering the unique history and culture. For art enthusiasts, there’s a new Perth Art, Arcades and Laneways Tour - a 90-minute tour that dives into the city’s thriving art scene, exploring vibrant laneways, hidden arcades and stunning murals. In Northbridge, the Northbridge History, Culture and Crime Tour uncovers the intriguing stories and multicultural history that has shaped the area.
Yoga and Pilates on Rottnest Island
Connect with yourself and nature in a new beachside wellness experience on Perth’s Rottnest Island. Evolve in You Yoga is offering morning or evening yoga and pilates classes at either Thomson Bay or The Basin, with both locations overlooking the ocean.
Indulge in a blend of yoga, mindfulness and community connection set against the stunning natural backdrop of the island. The classes include dynamic asanas, breathing techniques, mediation and holistic wellness practices, catering to all levels of fitness.
'Spinifex People: Art and stories from Pila Nguru' at the WA Museum
This exhibition is a modern story with ancient origins, celebrating the creativity and resilience of a unique Aboriginal community through their art, images and voices. Featuring a stunning array of artworks, objects, digital projections and film, it will transport you into the world of the Spinifex People and their enduring connection to Country. For thousands of years, they lived in a land that few outsiders ever saw. Then during the mid-1950s, British atomic bomb testing around the fringes of Spinifex Country led to the removal of the people from their homelands.
Visitors can view poignant pieces of artwork that represent their displacement during the testing, and the pivotal works that contributed to the community's successful Native Title Determination in 2000.

DISSH Opens New Stores in Perth
DISSH, the beloved Australian womenswear brand known for their chic and elevated capsule wardrobe aesthetic, is expanding its bricks and mortar footprint into WA this summer, with a location at the premium shopping destination Claremont Quarter, as well as a new store in Karrinyup, too. The new space balances urban sophistication with coastal warmth, with large windows, signature DISSH design elements like tactile travertine and the soft movement of draped sheer fabric.

Sundays Around the World 3.0
The Cott is bringing back the iconic Sundays Around the World 3.0, launching this November. ICF is Back for Summer
Formerly known as the Ice Cream Factory, WA’s most celebrated and unique festival has expanded for the 2024/2025 season, running from November through to February. The event will feature international acts such as Two Door Cinema Club, Patrick Topping, Solomun, Hot Chip DJ Set, and a secret Canadian headliner, while local favourites like Vera Blue, Peking Duk, Luude, and many more icons are also on the bill. This extended season promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

Scarborough Sunset Markets are back, bringing those balmy beachside vibes to your Thursday nights this summer! Rooftop Movies
Rooftop Movies is the ultimate way to soak up summer nights in Perth, offering a fun cinema experience high above the city’s streets. Located in the heart of Northbridge above the Roe Street carpark, this quirky open-air cinema pops up with a colourful retro vibe, complete with deck chairs, beanbags, and unbeatable skyline views. Step into Zen at Perth Zoo
The Hike Collective has launched an exclusive experience at Perth Zoo, where you can step into a sanctuary of calm before the zoo opens for the day to the public. The two-hour tour begins with a gentle walk through the rainforest, followed by a 45-minute beginner-friendly yoga session in the calming presence of the elephants. The journey then continues with a walk through the African savannah and Australian bushland, meeting some of the much-loved locals—from lions and meerkats to pandas, and koalas. The experience finishes with a refreshing cold-pressed juice as you soak in the wonders of the wild.

Perth-based tour company Mindful in Nature has unveiled a number of new tours and experiences, all designed to foster a deeper connection with nature and promote health and well-being. The Discover Forest Bathing in Dwellingup tour offers guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the tranquillity of the forest in Perth’s Peel Region. There’s also The Serenity in the Park: Eco-Wellness Experience in Yellagonga Regional Park in the northern suburb of Joondalup, which offers a peaceful retreat with mindfulness practices, gentle movement, and sensory activities to deepen your connection with nature.
For those looking for a restorative day retreat, the new Forest Alchemy Day Retreat in Beelu National Park in the Perth Hills is simply glorious. You’ll participate in a silent walk, Qigong practice, and a nourishing vegetarian lunch, complemented by a follow-up 1:1 coaching session.

Have a sauna at Scarborough or City Beach
Alchemy Saunas has expanded its popular sauna offering to another two scenic and iconic beach side locations - Scarborough and City Beach, with existing locations across the city including Fremantle and West Leederville. City Beach is the first permanent outdoor sauna to be located beachside in Western Australia. This unique offering will enable guests to create their own hot and cold therapy, with a plunge in the ocean after the session.
Hidden De Tours New Brewery Experience
Perth-based touring company Hidden de Tours has launched a new tour offering, exploring the breweries south of Perth in the Rockingham and Peel regions. Kicking off once a month on a Sunday, the five-hour tour includes visits to three brewpubs, with tastings and lunch included. The breweries include FOUND.LAB in Byford, King Road Brewery in Oldbury, and The Brewship in Yangebup. The tour includes guided beer tasting sessions with beer experts, behind the scenes brewery tour, and a brewery lunch.

Ciao Dandy opens in Karrinyup
Karrinyup’s stylish West Deck has welcomed a stunning pop-up Spritz Bar and Italian Kitchen for the summer, and it is something special. Think mouthwatering grilled octopus, spaghetti vongole and tiramisù cannoli, paired with the freshest sips and laid-back retro italian vibes. We can’t get enough.

Ribs Lane opens in Subiaco
Perth’s food scene just got a whole lot hotter (and tastier). Ribs Lane Subiaco, the second venue from Perth’s BBQ favourite, has officially opened its doors. Expect a laid-back, retro backyard vibe with pet-friendly (!) alfresco dining and the most delicious, slow-cooked, melt-in-your-mouth American-style BBQ ribs. And if ribs aren’t for you, you’ll also find burgers, wings, pizzas, desserts, thick shakes and sides.

HAVZA opens at The Basin at Rottnest
A contemporary Mediterranean dining experience has popped up on the shores of one of Rottnest Island’s / Wadjemup most popular beaches, The Basin. HAVZA is an outdoor dining experience offering stunning Indian Ocean views alongside a menu that blends the flavours of the Aegean Sea with local WA produce. The casual, family-friendly dining experience serves up tapas-style dishes designed for sharing – with takeaway options also available for true beachside dining.

Lola Underground opens at State Buildings
Lola Underground has opened its doors in the basement of the historic State Buildings precinct in Perth’s CBD. A new venture from the team behind Dunsborough’s Lady Lola in the Margaret River Region, the late-night venue offers a cosy yet energetic atmosphere to unwind and indulge in after-dark activities. Expect European-inspired bites and a drinks menu featuring a selection of Spanish, French and WA wines alongside sophisticated, stirred cocktails made with top-shelf spirits.

Ginza Nana Alley opens in the Perth CBD
Australia’s first Yokocho-style dining experience has opened its doors down a Perth CBD laneway. Ginza Nana Alley is a 70-person space with an authentic street-style atmosphere. The five venues within the space include Ginza Midai which specialises in oden; Yakitori Washokudo, a fire grill dedicated to skewers; Onomichi Ramen Mitsuya offers Onomichi-style ramen; Tonkatsu Kubota is Japanese comfort food with a western twist; and Monkey and Bird is a retro-inspired Japanese style cafe and bar. You’ll also find a bunch of Japanese vending machines in the venue, adding an authentic street experience.

TIME • BAR and TIME • DINING from the Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA)
As part of the incredibly successful TIME • RONE exhibition, which opened in June 2024, AGWA's brand new offerings - TIME • BAR and TIME • DINING allows visitors the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in RONE's art while enjoying exquisite fine dining experiences within the installation itself.
Prohibition-inspired TIME • BAR opens on Wednesday 28 August and is located deep within the Centenary Galleries, inviting art enthusiasts and food lovers to unwind with bar snacks by chef Guy Grossi and drinks curated by renowned Perth bartender Andy McIntyre.
Then, in an Australian first, on Thursday 5 September AGWA will introduce TIME • DINING; an exclusive and intimate dining experience that will feature soundscape composed by award-winning Nick Batterham and a sumptuous four-course menu by Guy Grossi, with bespoke pairings from St Hugo wines.
