Wunderlich Lane is the Buzzing New Precinct Set to Transform Sydney

Wunderlich Lane is officially here and it's a curated destination for foodies, shoppers, and culture lovers alike.

Christmas has come early to Sydney with the arrival of an exciting new lifestyle precinct.

Wunderlich Lane, located at the intersection of Cleveland and Baptist Streets at the crossroads of Surry Hills and Redfern, is set to open its first wave of venues this month, promising to become a must-visit destination for hospitality, retail, beauty, and wellness in the inner city.

Developed by TOGA Group, this ambitious project transforms the area into a one-stop destination, offering everything from contemporary dining and boutique shopping to luxury accommodation.

An Unbeatable Foodie Line-Up

The first openings kick off this November, introducing Sydneysiders to a curated selection of dining and entertainment venues. Among the standouts is Island Radio, an eatery by House Made Hospitality, offering a must-try menu inspired by Southeast Asian flavours. Come early 2025,  Baptist Street Rec Club promises retro charm with quirky 1980s and 1990s-inspired cocktails and wines.

Also joining the culinary roster is the highly anticipated Regina La Pizzeria, brought to life by the team behind the acclaimed LuMi Dining. With pizzaiolo Matteo Ernandes at the helm and the innovative Fazzone volcanic stone pizza oven in place, expect elevated takes on classic Italian pizza.

Meanwhile, Olympus, from the team behind The Apollo and Cho Cho San, will offer a taste of Greek village-style dining with an Athenian twist. It will feature year-round garden seating beneath a stunning oculus ceiling.

Of course, no foodie hub is complete without a sweet treat, and the much-loved Gelato Messina will be setting up camp and dishing out its signature artisanal gelato.

A Wellness and Beauty Destination

Wunderlich Lane is poised to become a leading wellness and beauty hub with an impressive line-up of incredible places to make you glow from the inside out.

The Parlour Room, a beloved Sydney beauty institution, launches its third salon on Thursday, December 12 —and its first outside Clovelly—offering lush treatments in an indulgent, serene atmosphere.

Design-led home and lifestyle brand Saardé will open its first flagship store, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in its chic, minimalist interiors.

Q Man Barbershop has already opened its doors to keep the men of Sydney well-groomed.

Boutique Luxury

For travellers and locals looking for a fun city staycation (if you're looking for a reason, this is it!), the EVE Hotel is set to open on February 13 2025. This 102-room boutique hotel is the ultimate urban escape, featuring a curated art collection, a rooftop deck with a 20-metre pool, and an on-site bar and restaurant.

To celebrate its launch, The EVE is offering a special package called The Reveal from February 14 to June 30, 2025. The not-to-be-missed offer includes overnight stays, signature cocktails, and a bespoke gift to take home starting at $519 per night. Did someone say perfect Christmas present?

On January 20, 2025, the hotel will welcome Bar Julius, a stylish new lobby bar managed by Liquid & Larder—the acclaimed hospitality group behind Bistecca, The Gidley, Alfie’s, and The Rover.

Inspired by the elegance of European hotel bars, Bar Julius will offer an all-day continental dining and drinks menu. Here, vacation sophistication will meet a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. Expect Liquid & Larder’s signature creativity and flair to shine throughout this unique space.

A Nod to History with Something for Everyone

Wunderlich Lane is named after the Wunderlich brothers, whose factory once occupied the site. The factory produced the iconic red terracotta tiles and ornate pressed-metal ceilings seen throughout Sydney.

The development’s design pays homage to this connection with its architecture's federation-style brickwork and terracotta elements.

The precinct’s walkable layout invites visitors to explore open-air walkways, browse boutique shops, and visit the fresh-food market. With luxury apartments for residents and creative office spaces for innovative businesses, the area provides a new way of living and working in the city's heart. The staggered openings will continue into 2025.
