What's On in Hobart This Month: Festivals, Arts & Culture
Body Body Commodity at The Theatre Royal
Five female contemporary dancers will take the stage for a breathtaking and visceral display of feminity during the Body Body Commodity performance. Exploring the confronting and harrowing topics of women's bodies and expectations in today's society where the line is blurred between body and object, this is theatre that angers, inspires and amazes.
Less than 10 creatives bring this show to life, yet the presence, powerful message and awe will stay with you long after the curtain closes.

Urzila Carlson Just Jokes: Late Show
If you need a night of cheeky jokes and belly laughs, grab a ticket to see comedian Urzial Carlson at the Odeon Theatre! Bringing her quick wit (that you may have caught on her regular guest appearances on Channel 10's Have You Been Paying Attention) to Hobart for one night only, and this evening promises to delight and distract from the real world, just for a little while.

Namedropping
Head to the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) to see its exhibition, Namedropping. Exploring the idea of status and fame, it asks: Why are we drawn to certain objects and people? Part of the exhibition has made headlines – MONA is hosting a series of exclusive listening sessions of selections of Wu-Tang Clan’s album “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin”. There is only one copy of this album in the world, and it is part of the Namedropping exhibition. Now that’s status.

Geeveston Twilight Feast
A monthly event embodying community spirit and delicious food, Hobart’s Geevestone Twilight Feast returns on the first Thursday in September. Less than an hour from Hobart, visit Geeveston to discover local food trucks covering every type of cuisine, wine by the bottle and the cosiest ambience imaginable.

What's On in Hobart This Month: Activity & Getaway
Healthy Hobart: Yoga
This month, the city of Hobart is hosting fun and free yoga sessions on Tuesday evenings, encouraging mindful connection, intentional movement and wellness. These classes are for any level of experience, from first-timers to those familiar with a Downward Dog pose. Classes are completely free, all you need to bring is a towel, a water bottle and an open mind!

Snow Season
If there's one thing to love about Tasmania, the snow season that extends into spring is it! Tassie has two ski fields – one within Ben Lomond National Park in the north of the state and around 3 hours from Hobart, and Mount Mawson at Mount Field National Park, around a 90-minute drive from Hobart. Ski and snowboard runs, chair lifts and decent snowfall keep the parks open in September.

What's On in Hobart This Month: Shopping & Markets
Salamanca Market
A stroll through this long-running market is the perfect weekend activity in Hobart. Salamanca Market has been around for over 50 years, and in that time it’s grown to include over 300 stallholders, encompassing local goods from records and woodwork stalls to Leatherwood honey and whisky producers.
So central you can shuffle straight from one of Hobart’s many fabulous cafes into another excellent coffee and a Lady Hester sourdough donut.

Hobart Twilight Market
Live music, food vans, art and design stalls overlooking the harbour in the twilight – does a market in Hobart get any better than this? Hobart Twilight Market is a great little stop on select Friday evenings for a bite to eat amid a convivial village atmosphere.

What's On in Hobart This Month: Food & Drink
Tesoro x Mr. Good Guy
In an epic collaboration that will send foodie hearts fluttering, Glen Tilly of Tesoro is teaming up with Mr. Good Guy chef Ted Less to fuse the flavours of Southeast Asia and Italy for one delightful dining event.
This event will push the limits of fusion cuisine, with a menu highlighting modern twists on traditional dishes. Expect Tasmanian oysters with Namjim and roe, mozzarella and nduja spring rolls, Kingfish crudo and 12-hour slow-cooked satay chicken with prosciutto.
Feeling fancy? Throw in the optional wine pairing to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine with your entree, a sauvignon blanc with share plates, a pinot noir with your main and a Moscato with dessert. Salute!

Urban Craft Beer Crawl
The Urban Craft Beer Crawl is coming to Hobart this September. If you haven't heard of this fun day out - it's the day to gather your friends for a self-guided beer-crawl adventure through local participating neighbourhood pubs and bars.
Hand-picking the coolest local bars in Hobart for beers and nibbles featuring top-notch brews, stop in at Shambles Brewery, Grinners Dive Bar and Crescent Hotel - to name a few.
Oh, and there's no need for a bus - each venue is within easy walking distance and you can take it at your preferred pace, offering a delightful range of tastings at every stop as you sip, stroll and enjoy a fab day out.

Agrarian Kitchen Stay, Tour & Dine
One of the most celebrated restaurants in Tasmania is throwing open its doors for an immersive experience made for foodies. Partnering up with luxe accommodation, from August to December guests can book an exclusive Stay, Tour & Dine experience. You’ll stay at the luxe Tasman Hotel in the city and can opt for a chauffeur to take you to the Agrarian Kitchen, about 40 minutes away in New Norfolk.
Once there, you’ll be taken on a secret garden tour at the Agrarian Kitchen to learn about the produce they grow and harvest on-site, get a copy of the Agrarian Kitchen Cookbook and an optional (additional charge) lunch before returning to Hobart. The package includes a daily breakfast for two at The Tasman’s renowned restaurant, Peppina, and late midday checkout.
